About the Artist
As a little girl, I would love sitting by the window pane painting the world outside with my favourite crayons. The unforgettable memory see the glee of my teacher who one day happily showed my artwork to the principal, who simply said “ if you could only show as much creativity in your studies”. Through my neighbor (A teacher’s) encouragement I joined the newly formed art club in Tashi Yangtse in the year 2012, and in 2013 i met the VAST Team who conducted in Yangtse the “Youth Interaction through art Camp”.
Through various participation in art competitions I became more determined in learning about art and it was a bonus to receive prizes for my creations. I was selected by VAST Bhutan to be sent on a ICCR Scholarship to the most renowned art College The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda,Gujarat, India in the year 2017. I graduated in 2021 with a degree in Bachelors of Visual Arts (Fine Arts), besides studying various art mediums in college from digital, photography and sculptures, my love for painting was strengthened there. The closeness of being one with the procedure from touching the paints to the smell of colors, and even if I make a mistake the feeling of my deeper self being in control of my expressions.
I hope to visit each dzongkhag and create works of art on subjects which each community holds dear and for them to cherish it throughout.
