About the Artist
I was known for being seemingly creative. I was praised for my handwriting. I didn’t know Calligraphy was an art form by itself then.
I was more into freelance Graphic Designing. In doing so, I felt the need to design and develop an ornamental ‘Dzongkha’ font. That’s what I am still doing. I hope some day a beautiful Dzongkha Typeface with lovely flourishing results.
Like any other art form, Calligraphy is also about balance – hand balance and balance in composition. Thus the flourishing helps to achieve that. But it’s a single stroke art – a stroke amiss, it’s a miss, it cannot be corrected.
