Humkara Mudra

Art Description

A variation of Trailokyavijaya Mudra.

The four armed form of Vajrapani, the ‘spirit subduer’ makes this mudra with his two principal arms. Humkara means sounding the syllable, Hum. The two hands resemble Garuda’s wings, with the index fingers of Akshobhya’s syllable Hum pointing outwards in a threatening gesture.

About the Artist

My first recollection of doing art would be when I was around four years old. I remember my father had drawn a vehicle and I still have that image in my head. From then, I got interested in the three dimensional work of art. My father, he mentors me without expressing, he does not say it in words but deep down, I know he supports me fully. I met Asha Kama just months after VAST Bhutan had been established in 1998 and I have been a member ever since.

Born 1975, from Bumthang
