Tiger’s Nest

Art Description

Taktshang or the Tiger’s Nest is one of the most spiritual and religious monasteries in Bhutan. The monastery is a symbolism of our country’s mystical and awe-striking architectural genius. And it gives us a sense of protection and positive energy to witness and visit this sacred place. To feel such sacred beauty  enforces people to follow the right path.

About the Artist

Growing up in a rural village, I was interested in art from a very young age.  My interest in sketching began at Lokchina Primary School.  I started to learn how to create colorful works on my own till I reached Class Six when my teacher Mr. Pratap Tamang guided me and inspired me with his creative ideas. During my high school days in Chukha, my friends would give me pictures of their girlfriends to sketch – this improved my sketching skills tremendously for I got to practice a lot.

After completing Class 12  I worked at one art gallery in Thimphu which led me to become a full time artist. My work mostly consists of and explores the concepts and themes on spirituality.

I prefer creating  Bhutanese architecture and landscape  and I love to play with different perspectives , colors, patterns, and textures.
