About the Photographer
I am Pelden Dorji, popularly known as Ata Pelden, joined the Government service in 1978 as an assistant cameraman in the Department of Information, the present day Kuensel, the National Newspaper of Bhutan. I started my photographic career in my school days. I studied filmmaking in Japan, India and Thailand. In 1980 I studied cell animation in (NID) National Institute of Design Ahmedabad, India. I also studied a communication skills development programme in Thailand. I had won International awards including Sony International Cooperation Division, Japan, for documentary films besides winning several National Awards. I am the founder of the Films Association of Bhutan. I received a Lifetime Achievement Award in the Year 2017.
