There is pride in living in the oldest house of the village. There is dignity in spending a lifetime weaving traditions. There are stories etched in every wrinkle of her face and of the clothes that she wove. Her old hands have now handed over the colorful threads to her daughter.
She stood there at the window, narrating her story, unaware of how the play of light and darkness captured her beautifully juxtaposed life.

About the Photographer
Upasana Dahal is a passionate Bhutanese photographer and a filmmaker and has worked with many international firms and production houses across the globe. With her love for cameras she is inspired to capture stories of societies and take them to the corners of the world. She has a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication with Video Production. She hopes to inspire individuals sharing stories from around the world and to encourage more women to take up filmmaking and share what matters most for a meaningful living.
